An effective cleaning process is a lot more than just treating a surface with a disinfectant and walking away.

Porous and non-porous surfaces should be pre-cleaned with a mild soap and water and then have a disinfectant or sanitizer applied if it is deemed necessary. It is also very important to understand and know exactly what that means for the type of item you are wanting to sanitize. With counters, cabinets, hard surface flooring etc. a general wipe down with a mild cleaning agent works very well. Porous surfaces such as your carpet and upholstered items need a slightly different approach. You need to do a dry soil removal process to start. This typically involves vacuuming with a vacuum that has a HEPA filtration rating to trap 99.9% of particulate.  Then the surface needs to be cleaned with a proper cleaning agent. If a disinfectant is chosen as a post treatment process, we recommend a botanical or botanical based product that is EPA approved and approved for food grade usage. The last thing you want to do is have everything freshly cleaned and apply a product that leaves harmful poisons behind for you and your family and pets.
